Politics has re-entered my life.

Its really funny that at home i was so associated with politics because of Brian and Dad, and somewhat mom-- but here i have to take this on myself if I have any desire to actually work out my ideas about things that are happening in the political spectrum. Seeing as how I can actually vote in the next primary and the next election, I have found that its reallay my duty to step up and figure things out for myself. My women's studies class is especially making me interested in this. I walk around and see all of these inequalities that still exist in our society and I have realized that it is so important to elect people who are going to change these things that have become so "normal" in our world. These 'normalities" that learly should be exist in the first place because they are not normal... they are patriarchal. Simply because we are used to things, does not mean tht athey are good or "normal". It brings me back to my sociology class and watching the anarchists fight against what they think is unjust. Now, I am in no way an anarchist, however they do step up for what they believe in. Thi sis somethign we just don't really see in our world these days. Back when America was being founded, all the way throughout the first and second world wars, people would take a stand against things that they did not believe in. I think that this motivation has been lost somewhere along the way; certainly there are anti-war marches, anti-abortion, pro-choice, etc etc... however, do these REALLY DO anything? No! They have lost that essential backbone that used to make changes in the world! How is our generation supposed to "take over the world" if we are not even standing up for anything we believe in?.. or how about how we are not even finding out things that WE BELIEVE IN!!!?? I've been trying to read up and watch videos etc about things that are becoming interesting to me. I mean, its very exterior at this point. But, i thought that whoever might be reading this, might be interested in what I have been doing. Hopefully I can keep up with things that I do have to do for school while being able to read up on many other things that I am now finding interesting again: who knew- maybe I'm not exactly the POLAR opposite of Brian that everyone thought. haha. This weekend there is an anti-war march that I am thinking of attending. We'll see, I might not have time, with al the things I have to do in the theatre, its really hard to do OTHER things... but I'm hopeing. Hope you've enjoyed my rant.

Goodday.
